New technologies provide professionals with new opportunities to improve the intelligence process
The NOTIONES initiative iNteracting netwOrk of inTelligence and securIty practiIOners with iNdustry and acadEmia actorS, coordinated by TECNALIA, establishes a network that connects researchers and industries with the intelligence community. This network will contribute to the exchange of new and emerging technologies and provide solution providers with information on the needs and requirements of professionals.
NOTIONES ensures the participation of new organisations and the expansion of the network by organising workshops and conferences to disseminate the results of the project.
The second NOTIONES conference, Generative AI and other related challenges for LEAs, will be held in Paris on 12th May 2023.
Identification of emerging technologies
Emerging technologies need to be identified well in advance and their potential impact analysed, as these innovative technologies are also used by other actors, such as terrorists, creating new challenges and threats.
Time constraints often prevent intelligence professionals from keeping up with the latest technologies. Sometimes, this may not only delay the adaptation of these technologies to the needs of the intelligence community, but also hinder the early definition of countermeasures to react to changes.
