We are working to extend the benefits of BIM to the rehabilitation of projects
Although the BIM (Building Information Model) is starting to become an increasingly common tool in new building projects, this is not the case in rehabilitation projects. The variety of case studies in building renovation projects (documentation that reflects the reality of the building, purpose of the intervention, diversity in the technological training of the actors involved...) makes the implementation of BIM in these projects far more complex.
At TECNALIA, we are working to develop a methodology that guides agents participating in an energy retrofitting project for residential buildings in the adoption of BIM as a key element of the entire process and in the implementation of a digital platform that integrates the different IT tools that facilitate the deployment of this methodology: BIM modelling tools for buildings based on many sources of data (project reports, 2D drawings, laser scanning...), simulation and collaboration tools between the project team.
In this way, we will extend the benefits of BIM (improved quality of interventions, reduction in execution times, more effective management of resources, reduction of costs...) to the rehabilitation of existing projects.
