One out of six couples experience fertility problems at some stage in their reproductive life according to the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
Seven million babies around the world have been born since the first in vitro treatment in 1978. In the United States, the so-called ART technology (Assisted Reproduction Technology) facilitates the birth of more than 50,000 babies each year through 263,000 IVF procedures (in-vitro fertilization), Research and Markets figure.
The ART clinic in Vitoria-Gasteiz and the TECNALIA genetics laboratory have organised a conference on assisted reproduction aimed at all those interested in finding out more about fertility treatments and techniques. The main objective is to inform and address concerns related to this topic.
