Towards healthcare based on innovation and value at EIT Health Spain / Basque innovation ecosystem meeting
EIT Health Spain has joined forces with the Basque Government's Department of Health to hold a meeting in Bilbao on 2nd June between its partners and key agents from the Basque health innovation ecosystem, in which TECNALIA is participating.
It is a meeting point to discuss the transformation of our health systems in Europe: the search for new models of health provision and healthcare for citizens. These new delivery models also have a common thread: patient-based health outcomes.
Health data spaces and artificial intelligence
At TECNALIA, our colleague, Borja Bonail, from Digital Health will be making a presentation. Bonail will discuss "Healthcare data spaces and artificial intelligence as levers to create value in healthcare" as part of the expert panel on "Technology to make value-based medicine a reality".
- Data spaces are platforms that enable health data to be shared and analysed.
- They are designed to provide clinicians, researchers and decision-makers with access to high-quality data that can be used to improve clinical practice and health decisions.
- In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has exploded as a powerful tool for analysing this data.
"AI is being used to identify patterns and trends that might not be obvious to analysts. This is particularly important in value-based clinical care, where the goal is to identify the most effective treatments for specific patient populations. AI can help clinicians and researchers identify which treatments are most effective for which patients, based on a variety of factors, such as age, gender and medical history," says Bonail.
