The Powder Metallurgy technology consists of the manufacturing of parts from powder metal. It is widely used in the manufacture of automotive parts, cutting tools and consumer goods.
The leading companies in the sector, manufacturers of metal powder, presses, furnaces or characterisation equipment will attend this event, which offers over 300 technical presentations and an exhibition spanning over 5000m2.
We will reveal our latest developments in the field of powder metallurgy in four oral presentations.
- · High speed sintering process (SINTERFAST): enables dense parts to be obtained in less than a second, using powder as a base. It is highly versatile and energetically efficient. / Application: in the manufacture of cutting or wear tools, titanium parts, etc.
- · Additive manufacturing through Binder Jetting: this technique enables parts with highly complex geometries to be obtained, which is impossible using conventional manufacturing processes. Furthermore, compared with other additive manufacturing technologies, its main advantage lies in its high adaptation capacity to all types of materials: polymeric elements, metal alloys and ceramic materials. Its high printing resolution, scalability and manufacturing speed turns it into a huge driving force for innovation and the development of metal/ceramic parts compared to other additive manufacturing processes. / Application: aerospace sector and machine-tooling
- · Replacement of Co and W in hard metal: Co and W are key materials for the European Union. We are developing alternatives to these materials using advanced sintering processes.
- · Presentation of the hard metal/cutting tool sector in the Basque Country and in Spain.
