The Climate Data Store (CDS) service, developed by Copernicus, provides free access to reliable climatic data related to the past, present and future estimations that will support climate change adaptation actions. It will allow for carefully judged decision-making in different sectors: energy, transport, water, urban and regional planning, among others.
Within the framework of the first Basque Country's Climate Change Week, ASTEKLIMA, Copernicus C3S offers specific free training on the use of this service. This training will be provided in a workshop led by TECNALIA researchers and professors from the Wageningen University (The Netherlands).
- It will highlight the use and selection of different climatic data sets from the Climate Data Store (CDS): observations, re-analysis, seasonal projections, long term climate projections, as well as some sectorial indicators.
- The workshop will present the toolbox that allows users to create work flows and applications adapted to their needs.
- AEMET will also be present: it will present the tools and projections that are available on a national level as well as a summary of the main sectorial impacts anticipated in Spain.
- The approach of the training is a learning process based on an e-learning platform. It will enable participants to put the knowledge acquired into practice in their own case studies.
The aim is to provide high quality training to those who wish to incorporate climate data into their businesses, research, or projects (priority: energy, water and local planners), to consultants and researchers.
The training included a prior webinar (which was held on 14th February). A second webinar will be held on 26th March.
