Data, AI and the digital twin in mobility planning
This session will explore how advanced technologies are revolutionising the planning and management of modern mobility systems.
-
- It will delve into how big data is collected, analysed and used to optimise transport networks, improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact. By leveraging artificial intelligence, transport planners can model and predict traffic patterns, user behaviour and potential disruptions, leading to more informed decision making.
- Furthermore, the "digital twin” concept, a virtual representation of physical mobility systems, which allows for real time simulation, testing and optimisation, will be addressed.
- Attendees will learn how these technologies work together to create smarter, more resilient and user-centric mobility solutions.

Organisation and participation in the Cyber Day
As part of the conference's wide range of activities, we have organised and will participate in theCyber Day. This special day will be held on 21st November and will include a series of lectures and conferences.
-
- The day will kick off with a lecture by Francisco Andrade, from the European Cybersecurity Organisation (ECSO), entitled "Strengthening Europe: Navigating Cybersecurity Challenges at EU Level".
- It will delve into the evolving cybersecurity challenges facing the European Union.
- It will explore existing threats, policy initiatives and collaborative efforts required to strengthen Europe's digital landscape.
- Attendees will learn about ECSO's strategic approach to enhancing resilience in cybersecurity, fostering public-private partnerships and shaping a secure digital future for the EU.
Navigating the threat landscape: cybersecurity in the transport sector and the impact of regulation
- A representative of ENISA will provide an in-depth analysis of the current cybersecurity threat landscape in the transport sector. The session will address emerging risks, vulnerabilities and best practices for protecting critical transport infrastructure.
- Attendees will gain valuable insight into ENISA's latest strategies, guidelines and collaborative initiatives aimed at improving cybersecurity resilience across the European transport network.
Moving towards cyber resilience: securing the future of connected mobility
Azucena Hernández (Eurocybcar), Maria Ángeles de Dios (Former Chief Risk Officer at Amadeus) and our colleague, Maite Álvarez, will explore the critical need for cyber resilience in connected mobility, focusing on strategies for securing autonomous vehicles, smart infrastructure and IoT systems.
- This session will also provide information on the UNECE/R155 regulation, examining its impact on vehicle cybersecurity standards and the challenges for manufacturers in its compliance.
- Attendees will learn how to secure mobility networks and meet evolving regulatory requirements, ensuring the safety and reliability of next generation transport.
Use case eBRT20230: European Bus Rapid Transit of 20230; electrified, automated and connected
UITP's Flavio Grazian and our colleague, Luis Manuel Viso will explore sustainable urban transport by proposing innovative solutions for electric bus rapid transit (BRT). This important milestone in electric mobility will demonstrate the applicability of a new generation of safe eBRT systems in different urban contexts, with innovative solutions that are economically viable and enhanced with new automation and connectivity functionalities.
Secure and reliable quantum communication
This session will focus on the emerging field of quantum communications and its potential to revolutionise secure data transmission. As traditional encryption methods face increasing vulnerabilities, quantum communication offers unprecedented levels of security through quantum key distribution (QKD) and other advanced techniques.
- INDRA (SIA) and Óscar Lage (TECNALIA) will be speaking in this session, addressing the principles behind quantum technologies, their applications in creating tamper-proof communication channels and the challenges of implementing these systems on a large scale.
- Attendees will learn how quantum communication can ensure secure and reliable data exchange in critical sectors, setting a new standard for cybersecurity in the digital age.
Securing the links: the critical role of cyber security in supply chain resilience
In this session, experts from RENAULT, FERROVIAL (Maica Aguilar) and TECNALIA (Ana Ayerbe), moderated by SERNAUTO, will explore the vital role of cybersecurity in maintaining a resilient supply chain. As supply chains become increasingly digital and interconnected, they are more vulnerable to cyber threats.
- This discussion will address key risks, best practices and strategies to protect supply chain operations.
- Attendees will learn how to identify potential vulnerabilities, implement robust cybersecurity measures and ensure the integrity and continuity of their supply chain in an evolving threat landscape.
