WavEC's annual seminar will be the stage to discuss the evolution of offshore wind energy off the Iberian coast and the latest developments in the sector
The event, organised by WavEC and the Spanish Embassy in Portugal, is an exceptional opportunity to get in touch with the maritime community and share views on the sustainable blue economy.
Our colleague, Germán Pérez, Head of Offshore Renewables at TECNALIA, will share our experience and technological developments in the session on the readiness of the Iberian supply chain for the commercialisation of floating offshore wind energy.
The seminar will also host the final event of the TWIND initiative, in which TECNALIA is working in conjunction with WavEC Offshore Renewables (Portugal), Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (United Kingdom) and Technische Universiteit Delft (Netherlands).
Four sessions
- Prospects for the offshore floating wind energy industry in the Iberian region
- Technological innovation and research
- Preparing the Iberian supply chain for the commercialisation of floating offshore wind energy
- Making offshore renewable energy a competitive and reliable option for a clean energy supply

About the TWIND project
The TWIND initiative aims to create a network of excellence that will spur a group of specialised professional researchers and trainers in the field of offshore wind energy: it aims to support emerging industry in Portugal.
At TECNALIA, we are working with the other partners to transfer knowledge and experience in the offshore wind sector to WavEC, through employee exchanges, tutoring and workshops, among other actions.
