Data as a tool for promotion and dissemination in films
The Zinemaldia & Technology competitionwill be held on Thursday 22nd October, a benchmark space for strengthening ties between technology and audiovisuals: its aim is to encourage the generation of new business projects. The emergence of new technologies in such diverse fields as health, industry, energy, communication and the economy, has brought about a major change in all stages of the audiovisual production chain. Blockchain, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things or virtual reality are concepts that, until very recently, were completely alien to us, but which have a significant influence on storytelling, on the use of data, on the emergence of new business models and on the tools for the promotion and dissemination of films. To gain first-hand knowledge of new technological breakthroughs, their potential uses and opportunities generated in the fields of creation and business, the San Sebastian Film Festival, TECNALIA and Tabakalera launched a new event in 2018 that sought to bring the world of film and ICT innovation closer through the 2deo audiovisual laboratory
Technologies for the audiovisual sector
At TECNALIA, we have been working for several years on the application of different technologies to the audiovisual sector. Thanks to our technological expertise, we have collaborated in the organisation of the event by evaluating and pre-selecting the projects presented to the challenge, in the selection of the jurors and in the organisation of the round table. As in the previous three editions, our colleague, Joseba Laka, Director of the Digital Unit, will participate in the opening of the event, along with José Luis Rebordinos (Festival Director), Edurne Ormazabal (Director of Tabakalera), Leyre Madariaga (Director of Entrepreneurship in the Basque Government), María Peña (ICEX) and Beatriz Navas (ICAA).
