The establishment of a sustainable circular bioeconomy requires the effective material recycling from biomass/biowaste beyond composting/fertilizer or anaerobic digestion/bioenergy.

TECNALIA, as head of the VOLATILE initiative, organizes this Conference through which attendees will be provided with feasible pathways to transform biowaste into a resource/precursor for other industries via an innovative approach of a Volatile Fatty Acid Platform. General legal or market requirements will be also covered as well as standardisation aspects.

Bioeconomy experts from Industry and Research will provide insights in biorefinery, raw material availability, technology aspects of a Volatile Fatty Acid platform, fermentation approaches to transform VFAs into added value compounds as well as IT solutions to support the implementation of a circular biowaste based bioeconomy.
