Fall prevention is a critical public health issue
TECNALIA colleague Pierre Barralon is taking part in the 1st Workshop of “Humain Recomposé et Reconstruit en Santé” (HR2S) in Bordeaux, France. During this event, Pierre is presenting his work on PREVICHUTE, an innovative project that aims to prevent falls in people aged 40 and over.
- Fall prevention is a critical public health issue and PREVICHUTE is working to make a significant difference in people’s lives
- This project, developed in collaboration with the MAIF Foundation, aims to create artificial intelligence capable of detecting the risk of falls in people over 40.
- This tool will combine data on lifestyle habits, health and locomotor skills to estimate the risk of falls in the next six months.
Fall prevention is a public health priority, especially for older people. Currently, the HAS (French National Authority for Health) advises GPs to carry out simple tests to assess the risk of falls in patients aged 65 years and over. However, PREVICHUTE aims to go further by providing fall risk indicators targeted at younger people, who may not have suffered any falls yet.
