TECNALIA develops innovative processes and materials for additive manufacturing to meet the demands of our industrial partners and clients, using our know-how in processes such as powder metallurgy, welding, manufacturing of composites, robotics, foundry, etc.

We also integrate additive manufacturing to assist on research, developing support structures, tools and components for prototypes.

TECNALIA's technology and applications are aimed at a wide range of sectors, such as the biomedical industry, construction or even aerospace in the case of manufacturing of components with complex geometries or special materials.

This type of component is also used in the machine-tool sector, manufacturing cutting tools with extra-hard materials and highly complex geometries. The goal is mainly to give components better features (performance, durability, lightening, etc.).

Part of our work involves improving tool functions for the automotive sector using high wear materials and manufacturing cooling channels with complex geometries.

Additive manufacturing technology also helps to reduce manufacturing costs. This strategy is aimed at the aeronautical sector, specifically at the manufacturing of high value-added metal structures and polymeric matrix composites.

Additive manufacturing is increasingly used in certain sectors and applications. Eventually, only initiatives in which the high additive manufacturing costs are outweighed by the unique capabilities of these technologies, or when conventional manufacturing costs are reduced will last

TARGET AUDIENCE

  • Anyone interested from a business and technological perspective.
