Summer course: towards a new model of rented social housing as a public service
A future vision of rented social housing with an innovative, sustainable and social value-generating perspective
The new reality we are facing in the Basque Country is making us rethink the space, cities and homes in which we live.
In the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Plan 2020, we sought efficient and accessible public rented housing. Now , we are also looking for a home, a pleasant home, a place to belong. The new model is intended to be a legacy for future generations in a new sustainable, inclusive and digital era. This new model must integrate buildings and people in a biodiversity environment.
In this activity, we will seek to encourage debate and reflection on the current public housing stock and the type of housing we need: pleasant, connected to the outside, multi-purpose and healthy. The new model must help us feel more connected, and therefore, the digital era offers new possibilities to connect to the most advanced services, avoiding exclusion.
