TECNALIA will host the final meeting of the CIRMET European project at our headquarters.
For over four years, CIRMET has focused on the development of technologies to contribute to increasing material and energy resource efficiency in the process industry.
- The final consortium meeting will be held on 22nd , with the participation of the 15 partners from six European countries. It is a consortium with a significant participation of Basque companies, where the technologies developed by leading European research centres and universities have been validated in the industrial environment.
- The final review meeting will be held on 23rd before representatives of the Commission, who are responsible for assessing the project implementation and scope.
Visit to the technology demonstrators
The review meeting will be rounded off with a visit to the three technology demonstrators developed throughout the project, which have been validated in an industrial environment:
- A metallurgical furnace for the recovery of industrial metal waste, using plasma as an efficient energy source.
- A system to recover heat from exhaust gases in industrial processes, which is capable of transforming heat into compressed air, and storing surplus energy.
- A digital platform for process optimisation integrated into the control systems of both demonstrators.
- Over these days, TECNALIA's unique technological infrastructure for the circularity of metals will be visited, as well as the DIGIMET facilities.
