The Copernicus Climate Change Service (CPS) provides free and openly reliable information on the past, present and future climate. It also provides tools for policy makers and businesses to develop climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
All stakeholders involved in climate change adaptation will discuss climate challenges, data needs and the potential of C3S solutions for extreme events, and water and energy management.
The meeting will provide a forum for discussing the challenges of climate change in Spain, both at a national and municipal level, focusing on two densely populated Mediterranean cities: Barcelona and Valencia.
Programme
- The proposal put forward by C3S will be presented in terms of data, tools, user support and training.
- The “gaps” between existing capabilities and user requirements will be identified, which will be very useful in guiding the future evolution of C3S. In this sense, Copernicus will provide a platform for the Spanish public and private sector entities to share their data needs and requirements in this context.
- The event will feature a number of distinguished speakers. These will include Efrén Feliu, Head of Climate Change Adaptation at TECNALIA, who will take part in the session on water resources management - challenges, requirements and climate data needs at a national level.
- You can find out more about TECNALIA's technological solutions for climate change adaptation at the Virtual Booth organised as part of the event.
