Conference: cyber-attacks in the Basque Country; overview of the situation, impact and remediation
More than 50% of companies have suffered cyber-attacks, according to recent surveys
A recent study on cybersecurity in the Basque Country revealed that more than half of the companies have been victims of cyber-attacks. Furthermore, 64% of these affected organisations paid a ransom following a ransomware attack, seeking to regain access to their systems and data. Surprisingly, however, almost half of the companies that paid (47%), suffered another cyber-attack.
Faced with this alarming situation, Basque IT managers and leaders have recognised the need to take urgent measures and comprehensively address the growing threat of cyber-attacks.
Aware of the complexity and seriousness of the current situation, various organisations have joined forces to organise the conference "Cyber-attacks in the Basque Country: overview of the situation, impact and remediation".
The importance of cybersecurity
The Society for Promotion and Industrial Reconversion (SPRI), the Basque Cybersecurity Centre, the Basque Association of Security Professionals (AVPS) and the Basque Security Institute (ISEA) are the entities in charge of this event. They will bring together cybersecurity experts, government representatives and professionals from the business sector to analyse the current state of cyber-attacks in the region.
- The main objective of the event is to raise awareness of the importance of cybersecurity and to promote collaboration between the different actors involved.
- Participants will discuss best practices in preventing, detecting and responding to cyber-attacks, as well as the remediation strategies needed to protect companies and organisations in the Basque Country.
- Cyber security experts will gather to share their knowledge and experience through conferences.
- Our colleague, Iván Gutiérrez, Cybersecurity Senior Researcher, will give the talk on "Addressing the evolution of technological trends in cyber-attacks and emerging challenges", in Group 2 of the Auditorium, Room Udalaitz 2.
Protect your organisations from future cyber-attacks
At a time when cyber-attacks have become a growing and sophisticated threat, this conference will provide attendees with tools and knowledge to strengthen their defences and mitigate the associated risks.
IT managers and decision-makers are expected to come away from the conference with a better understanding of the current situation and with clear ideas on how to protect their organisations from future cyber-attacks.
