The International Cold Forging Group (ICFG) is a non-profit organisation that brings together experts from industry and science in order to promote the economic and technical advancement of cold forging by encouraging and coordinating national and international cooperation, stimulating research and disseminating knowledge of relevant processes and sciences.
The Basque Country is the area with the biggest concentration of cold forging companies in Spain, as well as research centres, universities and vocational training schools devoted to metal forming and advanced manufacturing. The 52nd ICFG Plenary Meeting of the ICFG will bring together specialists from academia and industry from all over the world, to discuss the latest technological innovations and recent achievements in cold forging. It will offer a good opportunity to share and exchange knowledge and experiences.
This Conference will include speakers from leading companies related to the automotive industry, one of the main recipients of this technology, such as NISSAN, MAGLE ELECTRIC DRIVES, GKN, FAGOR ARRASATE, CHEMETAL and FUCH LUBRICANTES, among other organisations and cutting edge universities in research into cold forging.
Here, TECNALIA will present its technological breakthroughs in the presentation by our colleague José Ángel Gutierrez “Forging surface inspection through double nature machine vision information” at 2pm on Monday, 16th September.
The activity programme also includes a visit to different plants and companies, including TECNALIA, where we will display our technologies related to cold forging as part of TOUR C. These visits are scheduled for Wednesday, 18th September.
