Cybersecurity is the backbone of any organisation's technology strategy and a key element of digitalisation
Industrial companies are increasingly aware of the need to incorporate cybersecurity into their organisations, but it is necessary to go one step further.
We are working with ARABA 4.0 and the Basque Cybersecurity Centre in the organisation of a series of conferences that move on from theory to practice, thanks to the simulation of a cyber-attack on a plant. Attendees will perform a practical exercise on a Cyber-Range, a virtual platform that allows real operational environments to be simulated, such as an attack on an industrial network, its consequences and how to react.
At TECNALIA, we have pioneering facilities in Europe, dedicated to training and research, as well as developing and validating new cybersecurity technologies in a Cyber-Range virtual environment. Our laboratory is part of the Cybesecurity node at the Basque Digital Innovation Hub, coordinated by the Basque Cybersecurity Centre.
Session 1: Training in the use of the cyber-range
- (4 hours) - 25th October
- From 9am to 1.30pm
- Theoretical training in aspects required to subsequently do the Cyber-Range exercise, such as ethical hacking and tools to be used.
Session 2: Red Team I - Attack on an OT network from an IT network
- (5 hours) - 26th October
- From 9am to 2.30pm
- Application of techniques related to the first three phases of a cyber attack (reconnaissance, scanning and gaining access):
- Meterpreter, nmap, Metasploit and Hydra tools
- Discovery of services
- Escalation of privileges
- Pivoting from IT to OT
- Brute force
- Lateral movement
- Information gathering techniques
