Functional printing has become one of the pillars that is reinventing the traditional printing sector and which enables new business lines applied to diverse sectors to be opened up, such as the publishing sector (digital and interactive books and magazines, functional printed devices, etc.) industrial sector (circuits, antennas, sensors, batteries, etc.), the agri-food sector (bio-sensors, smart packaging and labels, etc.) or the health sector (biochemical diagnosis devices, biological testing, etc.)
This is based on the manufacture of products with new functions through printing. To do so, traditional printing technologies are used (offset, rotogravure, screen printing, etc.) with advanced materials, such as conductive, bioactive or thermochromic inks. Through this process, products with high added value are obtained for multiple applications, at a low cost, mass produced with a reduced impact on the environment.
As collaborators of the event, TECNALIA participates with a speech on "Functional Printing Platform: from the material to the functional part” by our colleague Isabel Obieta, Industry and Transport Project Manager.
If you would like to know more about the innovation, applications and developments of these materials, we invite you to attend the conference organised by the Cluster on Advanced Printing ( Functional Print Cluster), which promotes the innovation and competitiveness of its companies.
