TECNALIA and the Elcano Royal Institute present a conference that will analyse the challenges and opportunities of quantum technologies and their implementation in Spain and the European Union. Together with experts from the public and private sector, TECNALIA will discuss how to consolidate an effective strategy in this key area.
In a context of increasing global technological competition, quantum technologies are emerging as a key driver for productivity improvement and economic growth. Quantum computing, quantum communications and quantum sensing are set to transform strategic sectors such as:
- Cybersecurity
- Industry
- Health
- Defence
However, Europe and Spain face challenges such as regulatory fragmentation, lack of private investment and the absence of a unified strategy.
Conference on quantum technologies
The event will begin with a welcome speech and introduction by José Juan Ruiz, Chair of the Elcano Royal Institute and Jesús Valero, Managing Director of TECNALIA. The event will then have a round table, moderated by Raquel Jorge, Associate Researcher at the Elcano Royal Institute, where experts from the sector will discuss quantum technologies and their application in Spain and the EU:
- Iñigo Arizaga, Director of Quantum Technologies at TECNALIA.
- Judith Arnal, Senior Researcher at the Elcano Royal Institute.
- Belén Feu, Chief Technology Officer of Escribano Mechanical & Engineering.
- Enrique Sánchez, EU Quantum Flagship - Brussels.
