The Spanish Urban Forum, known as the most important open space for sustainable urban development in the country, will start once again after the approval of the Spanish Urban Agenda. The goal is to promote the exchange and participation to create a strategic, sustainable, and integrated urban development in Spain.
Goals of the Spanish Urban Forum
- The Forum serves as a large multi-level participation platform involving all the relevant stakeholders in the field of urban development in Spain, from different levels and sectors of government, as well as civil society. They will share, promote, and exchange ideas and good practices related to sustainable planning.
Adapting urban environments to today’s challenges requires a multidisciplinary understanding of interrelated and complex phenomena. Despite the many years spent talking about Smart Cities, there is still great potential for using data and disruptive technologies to support decision-making processes in the field of urban planning and management.
City Digital Twins are virtual replicas of urban environments, connected to static and dynamic data sources (for example, sensors), which enable the modelling of multi-dimensional urban processes and the development of simulations to improve the decision-making processes in the field of management and urban planning.
