At WindEurope 2022, TECNALIA will introduce it technological solutions for the wind industry.
The European Wind Energy Association celebrates its WindEurope Annual Event 2022in Bilbao. A benchmark fair and congress in the sector where the latest challenges of land and sea wind will be addressed, with more than 350 exhibitors from the most representative European industry. A forum in which to share experiences, establish contacts and make the most of the wind industry's opportunity to deliver a decarbonised future.
TECNALIA will be present in this forum showing the technological solutions it develops in collaboration with the industry to achieve a reduction of costs and an increase in the sustainability of wind energy throughout its value chain.
- Solutions for offshore systems
- Energy integration in smart grids and energy storage
- Digitalisation for O&M and process improvement
- Innovative materials
- Circular economy in the wind power industry
Wind energy, decarbonisation and quality employment
The wind industry accounts for 300,000 quality jobs that contribute €37,000 million to EU GDP. Each new wind turbine generates an average economic activity of 10 million euros.
- Wind power today covers 16% of Europe's electricity demand. The European Commission considers that half of the electricity in 2050 will be wind, with output going from the current 220 GW to 1,300 GW. That means a 25-fold increase in offshore wind energy in the EU.
- The decarbonisation of the energy system, transport, building, industry and other sectors requires the mass integration of renewable energies. They drive direct electrification and decarbonisation of hard-to-electrify sectors through energy carriers such as green hydrogen.
