The impact that technology has on various fields was discussed at a conference called “The Cloud and Mobile Phones as Allies of Our Health”
Last week, Bilbao became a hub of technology and innovation knowledge, thanks to the 2nd Bilbao Tech Week. Health 2.0 Basque could not afford to miss this technological event and led the healthcare space with a round table entitled “The Cloud and Mobile Phones as Allies of Our Health”, in which the impact of technology on its fields of action was discussed: healthcare centres, innovation centres, insurance companies, the elderly and, of course, business.
Javier González from TECNALIA took part in the round table and talked about products and innovative companies that have been created thanks to TECNALIA's research and developments. He talked about ArmAssist 2.0, the second generation robotic device for passive, assisted and active training for arms and hands, which enables the majority of patients affected by a cerebrovascular accident to be treated; and FESIA Walk for patients suffering from club foot. He also highlighted the importance of transferring knowledge acquired at technology centres to companies.
Other speakers who also took part were Juan Carlos Santamaría and Gonzalo López, Director of Development and Technical Commercial Director of Inithealth, respectively; Blanca Usoz, Occupational Medicine specialist; Iñaki Bartolomé, CEO at Ideable Solutions; and Javier Garate, Organisation and Systems Director of IMQ.
