We are improving the evaluation of chronic back pain

Together with FESIA, Medtronic, the Ramón y Cajal Hospital and Tecnalia Ventures we have launched a new project called Chronic Pain which focuses on the development of a quantitative electrical sensory evaluation system (EQSA in Spanish) for the evaluation of pain and sensory disorders. It is specifically designed to evaluate patients with Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS).

The differential value of this system is its ability to perform a complete and multi-dimensional sensory analysis thanks to the multi-field electrode and the ability of electrical stimulation to stimulate different nerve fibres in a selective manner. This detailed analysis will reduce the ratio of non-responders to spinal cord electrical stimulation treatment by 10%. In a period of three years an innovative and clinically validated product will be launched on the medical product market.
