TECNALIA and the OdiseIA Artificial Intelligence Social and Ethical Impact Observatory join forces to promote the responsible use of this technology in companies
The collaboration between the research and technological development centre and OdiseIA will promote actions on the ethics, responsibility and prevailing legislation related to this technology
26th July 2023. Artificial Intelligence is considered to be the key technology for digital transformation and the main driver of business competitiveness and welfare for society in this new paradigm. However, its exponential growth opens up new avenues yet to be explored and determined at all levels. In order to take advantage of its potential in safe conditions, the research and technological development centre TECNALIA and the Artificial Intelligence Social and Ethical Impact Observatory (OdiseIA) have joined forces to promote the responsible use of this technology, through three areas of analysis: ethics, responsibility and prevailing legislation.
For this reason, they have signed a collaboration agreement in which they will pool their capabilities in this field, and in which they undertake to promote activities in the area of Artificial Intelligence, such as Statistics and Operations Research. Therefore, in the case of TECNALIA, the fundamental pillars when it comes to conceiving technologies related to Artificial Intelligence are: inclusive AI with social impact, sustainable AI and ethical AI. OdiseIA promotes quality research and teaching in this area, and aims to communicate its importance to society.
As a result of this collaboration, the following actions will be carried out: promote the presence of information sessions on Artificial Intelligence; encourage the participation of members of both entities in the activities organised by each of them, especially the participation of young people; and promote the implementation of projects and services to achieve a safe and responsible use of AI.

OdiseIA is a national non-profit association set up in 2019 and made up of companies, universities, institutions and individuals that promotes specific and influential actions to promote the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in all areas based on ethics and current legislation.
