AI and data spaces will play a key role in the challenge of energy transition
TECNALIA has held a meeting in which it had a leading role in the debate with its partners, experts and leaders in the technology industry, ARISTA, DELL TECHNOLOGIES and RED HAT. At the meeting, TECNALIA was able to share how to address this digital transition in business, supported by its new KATEA technology platforms.
The following topics were discussed at the session:
- The digitalisation of the energy sector as a key element for the integration of renewable energy and the safety of energy infrastructure.
- The use of AI to operate renewable energy generation infrastructure and electrical grids, and to improve the efficiency of energy-intensive industrial processes
- The relevance of data to business, the difficulty to obtain reliable data, data governance, as well as sectoral data spaces as ecosystems that can add high value to participating companies
Another item on the agenda was the digital product passport. And it has also become clear how critical it is to have commonly accepted standards to improve business efficiency, and that there is still a lot of ground to cover.
Debate on digitalisation in the decarbonisation of the economy
Participants agreed that it was a top-level debate and that it served to share and align visions on digitalisation as a driving force for productivity and competitiveness and as an enabling technology for the decarbonisation of the economy. This will bring about challenges and opportunities for stakeholders in the industrial value chains, and innovation and technology are the levers that will enable us to take advantage of them.
