Applications to the KYKLOS4.0 initiative – Open Call #1 can be submitted from 1st April 2021 until 30th June 2021.
Applicants must form a SME-led consortia of two or three entities. All proposals will be verified, evaluated and applicants will be informed of the result. Proposals must be submitted via F6S no later than 30th June 2021. The selected proposals will enter into an agreement with KYKLOS 4.0.
KYKLOS 4.0 seeks innovative solutions to improve digital manufacturing processes. They should address one or more of the following sub-domains: cyber-physical systems, product life-cycle management, life-cycle analysis, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, circular manufacturing, Big Data and data management, deep learning and decision-making support systems.
Its main objective is to develop an innovative circular manufacturing ecosystem based on novel CPS and AI based technologies. These are enhanced with innovative production mechanisms and algorithms, aimed at personalised products with extended life cycle. They promote energy efficient and low material consumption intra-factory production processes, resulting in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants.
The proposed solutions presented through experiments should demonstrate a high innovation potential and be ready to explore commercialisation opportunities by the end of the test period. As part of the experiment, the solution must be validated and demonstrated in a pilot location, which should be provided by one of the applicant’s consortium partners.
The selected projects will implement their experiments over a period of six months, divided into three inter-related stages: planning (1 month), implementation (3- 4 months) and commercialisation and business sustainability (1-2 months).
KYKLOS will offer coaching and technical and business support in each of these stages. In this way, guidance and business training will be provided to define the value proposal, test business ideas, and identify funding opportunities. The project and its results will also be promoted, providing access to events, setting up meetings and matchmaking with potential investors.
Further information
KYKLOS 4.0 is funded by the European Union’s H2020 research and innovation programme. This first call boasts one million euros to fund seven projects made up of SMEs and industrial entities which submit innovative solutions to move forward in digital manufacturing processes.
KYKLOS 4.0 will demonstrate, in a realistic, measurable, and replicable way the transforming effects that CPS (Circular Production System), PLM (Product Life Management), LCA (Life-Cycle Analysis), AR (Augmented Reality) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) technologies and methodologies will have in the circular manufacturing framework.
