“The HAZITEK RSU4HOM initiative is aimed at developing new construction materials from recovering slag from the incineration of municipal solid waste (MSW)”
The HAZITEK RSU4HOM project renews its commitment to the effective and efficient recovery of municipal solid waste generated at the CMG-1 plant (Zubieta)
For the second consecutive year, TECNALIA is taking part as an agent of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network (RVCTI) in this project, aimed at developing new construction materials from recovering slag from the incineration of municipal solid waste (MSW). This contributes to the reduction in the environmental impact generated from this type of slag in landfill. New materials such as aggregates for concrete, mortar and prefabricated concrete are obtained at the same time.
The consortium is made up of FCC Medio Ambiente, Ederra Morteros y Revocos, Kobeka Harrobiak and Prefabricados Leceaga under the leadership of FCC. T.
TECNALIA contributes to the characterisation of cementitious materials
The work of TECNALIA's Construction Materials laboratory focuses on characterising prototypes in order to evaluate the performance achieved by these new materials so that they can be put on the market with full guarantees for manufacturers and users in general. To this end, it has put a technical and human team with extensive experience in this field at the consortium's disposal.
