Joseba Laka, Digital Director at TECNALIA, has been re-elected as Vice-President of AMETIC's Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Committee, the voice of the digital industry.
Joseba Laka was re-elected during the meeting held in Madrid on 9th October 2024. At the same event, Enrique Serrano (Tinámica) was re-elected as President, and the possibility of a second Vice-Presidency was opened, which will be held by Gabriel López (Microsoft).
AMETIC's AI and Big Data Committee: a leader in the digital industry
AMETIC's AI and Big Data Committee is one of the most closely followed by its members: it has six working groups (WG) and an observatory, making it the commission with the most WGs. These working groups are: AI analysis and positioning, language technologies, prediction, artificial vision, neurocomputing and generative AI. TECNALIA actively participates in all the WGs, with the exception of the prediction WG, and it leads the Generative AI WG.
The working groups have an annual programme of objectives and actions that focus on continuous dialogue with the Public Administrations (especially the SEDIA, Secretariat of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, and the Data General Directorate), the response to queries from the European Digital Europe board and the European Commission, the organisation of case study sessions on the use of the technology, and the issue of positioning documents.
The documents are channelled towards institutions or the public through the Observatory or webinars.
