TECNALIA organises a conference on the new European Construction Products Regulation

Conference on the new European Construction Products Regulation (CPR 2024/3110)

TECNALIA research and technological development centre held a very successful conference on the new European Construction Products Regulation (CPR 2024/3110) at its facilities in Derio (Bizkaia). The event was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Industry (MINTUR), the European Organisation for Technical Assessment (EOTA), the Basque construction cluster BUILD:INN, Certinalia and the Basque Government.

This new regulatory framework, which was recently approved and will replace the current 2011 regulation, will bring important developments for the construction products industry in the field of sustainability and digitalisation.

The conference, which brought together around 100 professionals, was a platform for the management of CE marking in accordance with the new regulation by explaining its implications and key requirements. TECNALIA, recognised as a benchmark for the assessment of innovative construction products, organised a full and enriching programme.

Izaskun Martínez, Director of Construction Labs at TECNALIA and moderator of the event, said: “The new European Construction Products Regulation is a significant step forward for our sector. Other speakers on the day included:

  • Jorge Jimeno, Head of Area at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, who presented the new features of the CPR 2024/3110.
  • Carlos Sánchez Patón, Project Manager of EOTA, who addressed the EOTA route and its impact on the sector.

The day included presentations on sustainability and circular economy, by Eva Larzabal of Certinalia, and on digitalisation, with the presentation of the Digital Product Passport by Ekain Cagigal of TECNALIA.
