“The aim is to obtain high value-added products for use in the chemical and paper sector, and secondary materials with a low carbon footprint for use in the construction sector”
TECNALIA is participating in an initiative, along with Agaleus, to recover construction products for the decarbonisation of the sector
TECNALIA is working on the development of new ash recovery processes. The aim is to obtain high value-added products for use in the chemical and paper sector, and secondary materials with a low carbon footprint for use in the construction sector. Thanks to the results of the initiative, products will be obtained that are:
- More competitive
- Cheaper
- Increasing the availability of raw materials
- More environmentally friendly
The PROCEN initiative came about to address the need to decarbonise the construction sector and to seek new, more circular business models to exploit mineral resources more competitively.
Participation of Basque companies
TECNALIA is participating in the initiative along with 3 Basque companies: AGALEUS, as the leader, OGERKO, as a concrete and mortar manufacturer, and TAMOIN, the industrial services engineering firm, at a key moment to achieve climate neutrality.
Thanks to this initiative to recover construction products, new processes will be developed to obtain more efficient products for the paper, chemical, plastic, rubber and construction sectors, among others. This will enable waste to be recovered and turned into a new resource, as opposed to the current model of disposal by means of landfill.
