TECNALIA uses nanotechnology to develop materials with new functionalities and innovative products that respond to some of the greatest challenges facing industry and humanity. TECNALIA’s R&D activities range from laboratory to pilot projects, and cover both nanomaterials and end products
TECNALIA’s R&D activities in nanotechnology include:
- the synthesis and functionalisation of nanomaterials, such as nanoparticles, nanocellulose and graphene
- the production of nanostructured surfaces
- and the dispersion, incorporation or integration of nanomaterials into end products, mainly advanced materials of different chemical natures with extraordinary performances
Through nanotechnology, TECNALIA develops advanced materials and products with multi-sectoral applications:
materials for hydrogen technologies, selective membranes for gas separation, nanocellulose production for various applications, capacitive deionisation for water desalination, aerogels, sustainable and multifunctional building materials, nanoemulsions, metallicalloys and materials, thermal spray coatings, composites and multifunctionalpolymers, adhesives, and buckypapers, among others.
