Development of new advanced high thermal resistance solutions that integrate super-insulating materials (aerogels) for their use in the exterior of the envelope (rehabilitation and new builds) and in the use of thermal facilities.
Innovation in the TERMAERO project focuses on the following key points:
- Design and development of cost-effective silica aerogels with low thermal conductivity (λ less than 0.018 W/mK) based on the implementation of the new SICLA technology, which enables personalised aerogels to be produced for their integration in superior construction and industrial thermal insulation systems.
- Optimisation and validation of new advanced energy efficient thermal insulation solutions for use in the building’s envelope.
- Design and development of new high temperature insulation products for thermal facilities.
