HUAWEI has presented us with an award in conjunction with INKOLAN, highlighting our excellence in urban data management, at its HUAWEI Cloud Summit Iberia 2025, held to mark its participation in the Mobile World Congress. This prestigious award, granted by HUAWEI, recognises the innovative application of data spaces to the data sharing requirements between public and private organisations involved in the management of urban technical infrastructures.
Award for innovation in data management
The award highlights the technological solution we have developed in conjunction with INKOLAN, which facilitates the implementation of the principles set out in the "Data Law", which has been in force since 11th January 2024. This law addresses the challenges and fosters the opportunities presented by data, ensuring fair access and the rights of users, as well as personal data protection.
The "Data Law" establishes a regulatory framework that facilitates data exchange between businesses and public administrations (B2G), respecting legitimate interests and protecting business secrets and other sensitive information. INKOLAN's involvement is particularly relevant in this context, as its data is potentially essential for public sector bodies to undertake tasks of public interest.
INKOLAN, commitment to quality and traceability of information
INKOLAN, a key player in this initiative, highlights the importance of ensuring the quality and traceability of information from the data subject to the end user. The data provided by INKOLAN are essential for the development of production and management sectors, as well as for citizens in general. Information must be requested for duly authorised uses and provided in a timely and detailed way, minimising occupational risks and effects on third parties.
Innovative technological solution
The award-winning technological solution is based on Huawei's Boot-X platform, one of the GAIA-X lighthouse project, certified by IDSA. This data space connects data providers (operator networks) with consumers (town halls, public institutions, engineering firms, contractors, etc.) within the governance framework established and managed by INKOLAN. The solution not only maintains the business model, but also reinforces the traceability and sovereignty of the information provided.
