TECNALIA participates for the second consecutive time in the technical conference organised on 20 October by the Madrid Big Data Cluster, of which it is a founding member.
On 20 October, the Madrid Big Data Cluster organised a conference dedicated to federated data spaces. This meeting brought together several councillors from Madrid City Council, promoter of the cluster, including the Deputy Mayoress; the Councillor for Economy, Innovation and Employment; and the Councillor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, as well as Alberto Palomo, the Chief Data Officer of the Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, who announced the National Data Strategy.
At the institutional table, representatives of the technical services of the Spanish Parliament, the Digital Office of the Madrid City Council, and the Secretary of State for Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence, presented their respective bets regarding data spaces. The representative of the latter described the steps being taken to set up the Gaia-X Spain Association, whose statutes are in the process of being drawn up.
At the table of European entities, representatives of the Big Data Value Association, BDVA/DAIRO and FIWARE explained how these initiatives have contributed to weave the framework of technical components that are expected to support the federation of data spaces.
Federated data spaces
Javier Herrera explained the key role that TECNALIA will play in the generation of federated data spaces. Our centre has a long track record in this sector, both in key associations such as BDVA, IDSA and Gaia-X itself, as well as in the execution of related projects and presence in standardisation bodies.
In this round table we shared opinions with representatives from Siemens, the Polytechnic University of Madrid and CITET.
