Vision technologies for the forging industry

Surface inspection via artificial vision is a means of control and product quality process that provides easy-to-understand information in the forging process.

Conventional 2D systems are complemented with additional layers of different types of sensors and intelligent processing, leading to a more robust and complete detection.

At TECNALIA, we follow a smart integration approach, used in several projects, which incorporates 3D measurement for control of the structural profile. We have developed a smart multi-sensor device integrated in the cutting machine, which offers a quality diagnosis and a precise calculation of the volume to optimise cutting and eliminate defects.

We will present this innovative technology at the ICFG Congress . Our colleague, José Ángel Gutierrez will explain the advantages and results obtained through different initiatives in which these vision systems have been applied.

Visitors will have the opportunity to discover other additive manufacturingmulti-material structures and Industry 4.0 technologies, as well as technological services in  materials engineering which, as a technology centre, we offer to the Forging Industry and its applicable sectors.
