Technological solutions for a smart city model
News
The roadmap will be available on the AZEB e-learning platform, together with the tools and support needed to implement it
The AZEB (Affordable Zero Energy Buildings) initiative has developed a methodology that makes it possible to have higher value nearly zero-energy buildings (NZEB) at an affordable cost.
The AZEB methodology allows to structure and assess the huge amount of existing solutions to design, build and use affordable NZEB through 15+2 steps. This helps the different actors involved in the decision making regarding the conception, design, construction, use and maintenance Essential tools and methods are also discussed in depth, and examples are provided to clarify their implementation.
The methodology covers not only technical solutions, but also solutions from other knowledge areas such as finance, contracting and process management. These have been applied in five case studies which have shown a significant impact on energy performance, costs over the life cycle, environmental performance, social sustainability, property value and occupancy standards.
The AZEB e-learning platform will be launched in the coming weeks and will provide the roadmap, together with the tools and support needed to implement it. This methodology is already available for download.
