BIM and digitalisation, key elements for the retrofitting of buildings
The improvement must be based on the identification of existing barriers in retrofitting by all of the actors participating in the process: architects, construction companies, public administrations, owners, building managers, regulation and certification bodies, users... Bearing in mind the needs and concerns of those involved, we can address solutions that satisfy the whole chain and hence, the entire process, making it more agile, effective, productive and with higher quality.
TECNALIA has launched a European -wide consultation on BIM and retrofitting among the different actors in the construction sector to compile information, common practices and the main concerns in the field of retrofitting regarding how digitalisation may be able to help overcome them.
Subsequently, these questions will be addressed through a specific analysis based on the different players and stages of the process to derive conclusions adapted to the individual needs and requirements of each group.
