Further information
The GAIA-X initiative was launched in October 2019. Although initially a Franco-German initiative, it is taking on a more European profile. The GAIA-X Association AISBL, a Brussels-based non-profit association, was created in the summer of 2020.
Its objective is to promote and facilitate a federated data and open software infrastructure to provide federated cloud services based on European values. The aim is to strengthen the digital sovereignty of the digital single market, to enable the sustainable development of the potential benefits from data sharing, and to create an ecosystem for both public and private sector users and providers.
TECNALIA is a member of the GAIA-X Association AISBL along with a further 200 entities such as: BMW, Bosch, DE-CIX, Deutsche Telekom, SAP, Siemens, Fraunhofer, OVH and Orange.
