ALLDIGITALWEEK

TECNALIA develops activities to encourage Europeans with low digital skills to engage in society and benefit from the digital transformation

At the ALL DIGITAL Week, TECNALIA is spearheading a study aimed at developing a digital skills assessment system to identify and understand our levels in order to improve them. Citizens will have to test themselves by assessing their digital competences through various digital competence tests based on the European Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DigComp).

Currently, 42% of the EU population does not have basic digital skills; 20% of young people do not have basic skills; 39% of teachers do not feel ready to use digital technologies in their work; 29% are not confident that they can identify disinformation; and 72% believe that robots will take their jobs.

This study has had a number of phases in which TECNALIA has collaborated with KZgunea’s network of stimulators, and with TECNALIA's HF & UX Lab to carry out the validation studies in accordance with the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing. At this stage, the aim is to test the adapted design using a wide range of citizens with different characteristics and levels of digital competence. Consequently, we will calibrate the assessment test items accordingly and adjust and improve those that are deemed appropriate.
