The Euskelec competition is the basis for experimental and creative activities as a teaching element to create technical knowledge about electric vehicles.
Euskelec is a competition where students from vocational training centres in the Basque Country design and build a 100% electric vehicle on a common power train base; a motor, motor controller and batteries. The aim is to promote teamwork and to establish experimental and creative activities as a teaching element to create technical knowledge about electric vehicles.
The teams, organised by Tknika and Alterity, compete using the same battery and motor: they use these components to build a vehicle in accordance with the rules of this competition.
On May 6, the Automotive Intelligence Center (AIC) hosted Phase 1, where the different groups presented their projects to a specialist jury: the single-seaters underwent pre-checks. Miguel Allende, Technical Director of Control Systems of TECNALIA's automotive division took part as a member of the jury, assessing the specifications of the single-seaters from different perspectives: the organisation of the team, the concept of the single-seater, innovation and the wiring diagram, among others.
