Treatment and prevention of asthma using innovative encapsulated symbiotics

Through the development of innovative symbiotics using microencapsulation technologies, biocompounds (probiotics, postbiotics and/or prebiotics) are obtained with the capacity to modulate the immune system through the gut microbiota. Furthermore, with these biocompounds, we achieve complementary immunotherapy to current asthma treatments.

This constitutes an opportunity to increase the competitiveness of the Basque food industry through the creation of new business lines based on the development of innovative, high value-added food supplements.
