“We are moving forward in research into the process of analysing environmental data for mobile safety”
We are researching new methods of obtaining and processing mobility data generated through the systems and sensors of modern cars
TECNALIA is developing artificial intelligence models for driver distraction detection without cameras, based on non-intrusive signals available in the vehicle's data network; an AI model to predict the movement of other road users, including the prediction of potential collisions; vision and intelligent mapping systems and advanced cryptographic systems, among others.
One of the major commitments of mobility is to guarantee safety by adapting measures throughout the system; these must cover social interaction (human behaviour on the road), traffic (roads, different modes of transport) and technological (infrastructure like traffic lights, signals, etc.).
This requires the creation of a large database with information related to numerous applications. This data should be generated by the on-board systems of smart cars; tested by expert drivers, who drive more than two million kilometres a year in Spain.
Data collection and processing
TECNALIA is participating in the DIVEC initiative whose mission is the design and implementation of a data management platform that enables all of these models to be developed.
- RENAULT, ASIMOB, ZENIALABS, MULTIVERSE, MASERMIC, ESTUDIOS GIS, GANTABI, ITELLIGENT, KOLOKIUM, NOMMON, PIPERLAB, SIGMA and UC3M are also involved in this project.
DIVE is part of the set of industrial profile projects with a significant part of R&D developments, of PERTE led by Renault.
