In collaboration with La Ciudad de las Estrellas (CIE) and Tecnotur
In August, September and October we will collaborate with CIE (La Ciudad de las Estrellas) to organise a series of activities that will strive to bring astronomy and astronautics closer to the people. They will include Celestial Observation Events, visits to the Planetarium “iO’s Journey” and Exhibits. All activities will be held at the Tecnotur facilities in Chiclana (Cadiz).
The Celestial Observations will take place on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings, from 9.30 pm onwards. During 2 hours, participants will discover the main Summer Constellations using a laser. They will also have the chance to observe Saturn and Jupiter, thanks to the organisation's telescopes.
In the mornings, visitors may enjoy “iO’s Journey” planetarium, a portable dome that is six meters in diameter and 4 meters high, which can host up to 30 people. (Booking in advance is required). There, people may enjoy a journey through space and time that will take them from the birth of astronomy to the latest missions.
These activities will be further completed with two exhibits. One of them has been loaned by the Philae Group (Jerez), while the other comes from the Spanish Navy Observatory of San Fernando.
These activities are held in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing; an unmissable opportunity for TECNALIA to collaborate with other organisations in promoting and sharing aerospace science and technology.
