"Manufacturing with local partners facilitates the transition from prototype to product"
Acceleration and industrial production of start-ups at the meeting organised by TECNALIA Ventures, TECNALIA's Deep Tech Venture Builder
TECNALIA Ventures, TECNALIA’s Deep Tech Venture Builder, organised a breakfast with start-ups to share the challenges of industrialisation. During the meeting, Gonzalo Martín, New Business Development Manager at Cikautxo, shared his commitment to a model for "Industrial Acceleration with start-ups".
Start-up industrialisation process
We were able to learn first-hand about the industrialisation process of H2Site with Gorka Hermoso, CFO of the company, as well as the role of a Venture Builder from Sergio Bandinelli, Business Development Manager at TECNALIA Ventures.
Where do I manufacture? Who do I partner with? What will they ask for in return?
These are some of the conclusions of the meeting:
- A new path is opening up for industrial companies to work with start-ups.
- Gonzalo Martín shared CIKAUTXO's Venture Supplier proposal, offering its knowledge and infrastructure for start-ups to produce locally, generating roots in their ecosystem as they grow.
- If a start-up is looking for an industrial partner or supplier, companies will listen.
- Gorka Hermoso explained how H2SITE has addressed its industrialisation process: "more and more industrial companies are seeing start-ups as an opportunity to diversify and explore new businesses”.
- Manufacturing with local partners facilitates the transition from prototype to product.
- Sergio Bandinelli introduced the challenges faced by a start-up to turn a prototype into a commercial product, and to set up its production processes; the result of the experience of TECNALIA's Venture Builder, TECNALIA Ventures.
