The aim is to improve the quality of life of the elderly by developing new foods with innovative textures and formats
As people get older, their nutritional needs also change; they need products that are easy to cook and available in small sizes, designed for one-person families. At the same time, these food products should have textures that are easy to ingest and should provide nutrients that are essential for the elderly, in order to avoid malnutrition and to restore their interest in food.
For this reason, new foods are being developed through Aliviada that respond to the needs of this user profile. TECNALIA, concerned about improving the quality of life among the elderly, forms part of this initiative as one of the centres that together with LEARTIKER and Home Care Lab will support the AURRERANTZ ASSOCIATION and the food companies BIZKARRA, HARAKAI and EKOSAL-LUZ in the search for new food alternatives for the elderly.
In the future, it is intended that these new products created as part of the initiative will be marketed through the three food companies participating in the project.
