We counted on the collaboration of AIAS, AKZO NOBEL, EUROSURFAS, GENERALITAT DE CATALUNYA, HEMPEL, HENKEL and NORDSON
On 30th May, we organised the "New trends in durability and sustainability of industrial paints" workshop at Fira Barcelona. Different experts presented the trends in industrial paints in terms of their durability and sustainability. They also addressed the concerns of the sector regarding the available alternatives and their features in accordance with the requirements to be fulfilled.
Our colleague Virginia Aseguinolaza, Director of Industry Lab_Services, welcomed those present and gave the floor to Pilar Navarro. She presented the next edition of Eurosurfas 2020, which focuses on smart surfaces.
Jaume Mestre, from AKZO NOBEL, spoke about protection and decoration in the industrial market; Pere Català, from HEMPEL, made an analysis of intumescent coatings for the passive protection of structural steel.
Our colleague Arantxa Pérez presented the new demands of UNE-EN ISO 12944-6 whilst María Vaquero addressed anti-corrosive steel treatment in an industrial environment using protective coatings.
Following the break, Gabriel Martínez, from NORDSON IBÉRICA, spoke about process optimisation and control in paint lines, and Jordi Aguado, from HENKEL IBÉRICA, focused on surface pre-treatments.
Albert Avellaneda, from the General Directorate for Environmental Quality and Climate Change in the CATALONIA GOVERNMENT, referred to the best available techniques (BAT) and the REACH Regulation.
The event culminated with a debate moderated by Josep María Simó, President of AIAS (Association of Surfaces Finish Industries).
The forum was made up of manufacturers and applicators of industrial paints, user industries, petrochemical firms and professionals from the paint industry.
