Reducing design, industrialisation and marketing times of power electronics equipment

The application of AAVID Smart CFD improves the thermal performance of such equipment and its long-term reliability

The incorporation of thermal simulation tools in the design of power electronics equipment has optimised the problems derived from the thermal warming of the power elements from the initial development phases.

The application of the AAVID Smart CFD tool in the development of some of our products simulates and visualises the effects of the heat generated by the losses of the elements of the power stages. IGBTs, MOSFETs, coils and filtering capacitors, as well as the DSPs and FPGAs processing elements of the control stages.

Thermal heating

This application provides a vision of the internal and external heat effects: anticipating and minimising potential thermal problems in preliminary design stages.

We have therefore managed to reduce the period necessary for the design of the equipment and a reduction in the time required for its industrialisation and marketing.
