We perform unique tests for quality assurance and the in-service study of the performance of electronic components of responsibility
At TECNALIA's materialography laboratory, we specialise in unique tests to ensure the quality and reliability of electronic components in service.
Over the years, we have analysed some of the causes that can lead to failures, for example, micro-solder breakage on the electronic board or short circuits associated with the presence of whiskers.
In order to inspect for microscopic defects, which may be the cause of these failures, we use the microsectioning test: defects not detectable by other methods can be revealed, such as micro-solder breakages or short-circuits that may affect the proper functioning of the component.
Once the quality control has been passed, we can estimate the useful life through the design of in-service performance tests under thermal and/or mechanical cycle conditions.
