“Automation, digitalisation and integration in waste management information models”
Recovery of CDW and methodology for its classification
TECNALIA is participating in the European RECONMATIC initiative: "Automated solutions for sustainable and circular construction and demolition waste (CDW) management". Its main objective is the application of robotics with artificial intelligence principles in the process of separating materials and products prior to the demolition of a building, site, etc.
We see digitalisation as a pillar for innovation in processes that have traditionally been manual and costly, from an economic and environmental point of view. In this way, we are reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.
Zero-waste target
The RECONMATIC project has been running since July last year and is scheduled to run for 48 months. Experts from different European countries and China will analyse current practices in construction and demolition waste (CDW) management and develop technology for its minimisation and optimal recovery. Our mission is to pave the way towards the zero-waste target enacted by the European Commission.
*This project is funded by the Horizon Europe programme.
